Responsibilities
As a Senior 5G Infrastructure Engineer at ZaiNar, you will design, build, and operationalize the greenfield production infrastructure that powers ZaiNar's 5G services. You will translate system architecture into deployable, automated infrastructure across cloud, edge, and on-prem environments, working in deep collaboration with engineering, customers, and mobile network carriers. This role is foundational: you will own the platform end-to-end, from reference architecture through live commercial deployment, and establish the operational standards that allow the team to scale.
This position is well-suited for an engineer from a Tier-1 operator or major vendor environment who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, who is comfortable with complex, evolving systems, and who is motivated by building foundational systems that move from concept to production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture & Infrastructure Design
Design end-to-end 5G production architectures across core, RAN, transport, and edge, translating system requirements into deployable designs.
Partner with systems, RAN, core, and application architects to align logical designs with live-network realities.
Define reference architectures that prioritize scalability, resiliency, observability, security, and long-term supportability.
Make pragmatic technology choices across cloud platforms, container orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring, and networking stacks.
Deployment & Rollout Execution
Lead production rollouts from initial lab environments through field trials and full commercial launch.
Develop repeatable rollout playbooks for parallel customer and carrier deployments.
Plan and execute upgrades, expansions, and migrations with minimal service disruption.
Live-Network Support & Operations
Serve as the team's authority on the live network: diagnose issues across core, RAN, and transport, and direct troubleshooting when production problems arise.
Partner with DevOps and support to define operational standards, runbooks, alerting, and incident response processes for production 5G environments.
Design systems with a strong focus on fault tolerance, observability, security, and rapid recovery.
Drive postmortems and continuous improvement across tooling, architecture, and processes.
Customer & Carrier Collaboration
Interface with customers and mobile network carriers on deployment requirements, integration, connectivity, security, and compliance.
Support customer-facing deployments, including on-site or remote rollout assistance when required.
